Serbia to suspend diplomatic relations with Albania, MakFax

March 26, 2008 on 8:29 am | In Kosovo & Metohija, News in English |

Official Belgrade to suspend the diplomatic relations with Albania and to call for boycotting of the Croatian and Slovenian products because of the recognition of Kosovo by these countries.

These are the demands voiced at the massive rally staged Tuesday by the Kosovo’s Serbs in the north Mitrovica.

At the rally held under the slogan “Stop to terror, no to NATO state - independent Kosovo”, one of the Kosovo Serbs’ leader Milan Ivanovic said that Serbia should suspend the diplomatic relations with Albania, because “in this country, there are massive graveyards of Serbs who had been abducted from Kosovo.”

Ivanovic also urged for bringing back the Russian peacekeepers in the Serb enclaves in Kosovo.

If there is another outbreak of violence in Kosovo, the Serbian security forces should deploy at the administrative border, Ivanovic said.

Several thousands of Serbs attended today’s peaceful protests in north Mitrovica.
