Kosovo independence would cause decades of tension – Dodik, Tanjug

December 3, 2007 on 5:53 am | In Kosovo & Metohija, News in English, Republic of Srpska |

BELGRADE — RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik was in Belgrade this Sunday.

He was visiting the ailing head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Pavle, whose health has slightly improved today, according to doctors.

The Bosnian Serb leader told reporters afterwards that regional stability cannot be achieved until there is agreement on Kosovo, acceptable both to Belgrade and Priština.

A unilateral declaration of Kosovo’s independence would cause long-term instability in the region and decades of tension, he said.

Dodik added that stability is of the paramount importance for the Bosnian Serb entity, and expressed belief that it would remain stable and peaceful, “even if there is a unilateral declaration of Kosovo’s independence.”
