  1. Kosovo
If one can take me heart as I breath
tear it from my soul and rename it theirs.
If one can force me to live in pain
hiding the truth from the rest
while beating me day and night.
If one can burn the cross around my neck
destroy the grave stone of my family.
If one can use money to change history.
Then there is no room for me on this planet
    we call Earth!

    The blood of these people
hundreds of years of pain and torture
mothers hearts which can no longer beat
without their children. Lies and more lies
just take my heart from my body,
take my soul take my Kosovo.
Serbian blood rests here and always will.
This is something everyone will walk on and
souls of the dead will walk here forever.

  2. Do you know that this poem by Dejan Tadic was actually turned down by the National Library of Poetry because it reflect Serbian True Identity over Kosovo. I think the Serbian Community in the United States needs to make this poem known.

  3. Dejan,

Thank you for your poem. Could you post the Serbian version of your poem? I would like to read it in the original language.
